Urban explorers, Alejandro and Ramona discover what they believe to be an as yet unexplored Mayan temple, deep within the rain forest. However, to their shock, they quickly discover that they are not alone and find themselves dragged down into the temple's deepest dungeons.

Fun game!
Question: would it have been possible to make a single engine in C for targeting all platforms old and new, and just porting system specific logic, or is the Next too underpowered for that?
Thanks! For me, I wouldn't want to try and do this on a Next with C. We are writing a C engine for future versions though...
Thank you. Looking forward to the final game.
Looking at the names behind this game, it would be wonderful to have a native Amiga version, even if it's run on beefed up amiga hardware.
Why don't you team up with H0ffman that converted brilliantly a recent PC game on the Amiga for instance ?
We'll do an AGA version at some point in the future... :)
Hey there. The game is really good-looking. I like how realistic the textures appear.
I wish it was possible to disable the built-in controller support. Although that would kill some of the game's plug-and-play merit, it would still make the game more ultimately controller-friendly, because profilers (like JoyToKey) could be paired with it.
I'm just using what love2d gives me... :)
I've tried two versions of the demo, but I can't get the fire button to work. Win 11.
hi - on a joypad?
On my Zipstick (through an adapter), and an 8-Bit Do controller. Both show the buttons working in the Windows controller settings.
I've just tried a PS4 controller and that is working, so I'll use that, though I would prefer the Zipstick, as digital controls are better for this type of game.
Have you tried creating a profile in JoyToKey, then launching the game?
The Mac download (UrbX.zip) appears to be corrupted. The disk image throws an error when trying to open it, and the readme file shows up empty.
You're right! Try now...
Works! Thanks so much for the quick fix. Great work - Big Box pledged. :)
Thank you!
thanks for the reply, maybe I'm doing something wrong, I'll try again, congratulations for the game.
I tried the demo on the "Next core" on Mister FPGA but when starting the game, after selecting the character, the core resets!, does this happen to anyone else? :(
I've been running it on my Mister Pi ok
A little tribute for you...
The 'PC' version and the Next version seem to be different build as the background on the character select screen is different.
They are totally different engines in fact. Eventually any differences like this will be fixed, of course.
Ahh, I thought you'd packed up CSpect.
Also, I was trying to post a screen shoot from a crash but it's not letting me upload the picture. Basically I'd gone through a few levels, died, restarted on the first level and as I was destroying a spawn box thing it froze and made an ear splitting sound.
Yeah, I'm hunting that crash down, but it's not easy to repeat. The Discord is a good place to report...
What? There's no full screen? And I don't like the music at all. It's awful. There's no option to turn it off? And the game needs more checkpoints... I'll back this anyway because I like the pixel art, but overall, I'm more disappointed than anything...
Read the readme :)
Turn the in-game volume down!
Cheer up!
Just backed the Kickstarter! Looks great! But my whole heart is for the Amiga version. :-)
Keep on rockin'!
Amiga on its way...
The game is looking great. Just backed the Kickstarter. Can't wait!
thank you :) :)
Great news, but i hope to get an Amiga Version of your great Game.
Yep, it's on the big to-do list :)
Awesome game!
Thank you!!
will you be producing a physical copy for the Spectrum NEXT version?
Absolutely. Jewel case or super amazing 'big box' :)
Awesome - via Chris Wilkins Retro Fusion site?
No :), Kickstarter - https://shorturl.at/0H9cs
Will it be possible to buy this game (for spectrum next), even if I have missed the Kickstarter?
You haven't yet missed the Kickstarter, but the KS might be your best chance for a really boxed version!
I see. I'm looking forward to that game! Thanks!
Really love the look of this and look forward to playing it!
Will you be emulating the Next build on those additional legacy systems (Amiga, Dreamcast, MD), or are those native ports?
Thank you! We'll be doing proper ports that play to the strengths of each platform.
PSX first, I think...
Looking forward!
This game is making me feel as excited for a release as I was in the 80s. I can't wait for the Kickstarter to kick off. I hope you're planning a crazy hype-train for this one.
Hey, thanks! That's great to hear :) I guess we're planning on planning a hype train :)
Played at Crash this weekend and had the pleasure of chatting with Stoo. Really promising looking project, looking forward to the Kickstarter.
Cheers! Crash was great
Played the ZX Next edition today. Stunning and a definite purchase (physical edition please) for me when available. I might even go for a digital (adf) Amiga edition if that happens. FS-UAE is my go to (don't judge me, I can't affort a real Amiga!)
Thanks for the early access fun to what will be a must have title.
Thank you! Next/PC game will be a physical copy, and .adf to follow :)
Can't wait to see the spectrum next version. Saw the write up in the Next annual and it looks stunning
Just read Jonah's preview in Pixel Addict 24, game looks amazing.
Thank you so much :)
Again, I read about this project in "Stoo's Views" in the current Amiga Addict magazine!
I am very excited for this project and see 2 Amiga legends create a new game for the Amiga (and others)! Holy moly, who would have thought.
Thanks a lot, looking forward to this!
Cheers
thank you! :)
After the success of my Roguecraft review, I'll definitely be reviewing this on my YouTube channel as well!
Thanks, sounds good!
Can’t wait…
Woooooooooooooow! Excited for this!
Hi, would be interested in covering this for Retro Gamer
That would be amazing!
